Help - please!!!

I'm trying to upload my game for approval (using the application loader from Apple). But I keep on getting the following error message:-

redballoon.app/Icon.png: icon is not in the proper device format
Application failed codesign verification. Please see the console log for additional details

I have made sure that the icon select in Gamesalad is 57x57 .png. As for the codesign verification, I'm not sure where I have gone wrong.

I DID search through the forums. So, not too sure how you are helping me by highlighting the above link. I do however, humbly apologise for the please help title - will not make that mistake again.

Anyway, I have discovered that using Apple's Application Loader is more a hindrance than a help. Issue resolved - so if the powers that be want to remove this, please feel free.

If you will...outline the solution to your post and add tags to the post (for searches) to help others. :)

When uploading your game for approval, use Itunes Connect rather than the Application loader tool.

    Is that okay, Synthesis?

Dude...settle...Just suggesting to pay it forward.

I couldn't help you specifically with this one (my partner publishes our stuff) but I do know that most readers skip "HELP!!!" post subjects...because it SCREAMS "Unsophisticated Newbie".

As far as my second post...I was only suggesting outlining the solution since you resolved it yourself...out of respect for the forum...rather than leave the post open-ended. This forum is our support center until Gendai can get a help section published.

We all help each other here...its give and take.
    Good Luck with your game.

Dude, I am settled. I was just asking if what I put was okay, as I had made some mistakes and this is the first time I have worked through Apples approval process.

You have to understand, you just posting a link with no comments, has an air of arrogance. You are going to get a lot of people like me who will get it wrong at first, but we will learn. No harm in being friendly when pointing out other peoples mistakes.

And I have a great deal of respect for this forum, as up until this point, the members on here have been very helpful.

    Cool.

BTW, just tried your Bumper Derby game - very slick for a game that is Beta. I like the scrolling menu's.

I would suggest to read the apple documentation, FAQ and the developer site in general first, before you ask something in any forums.

You have all the info there.

I believe there are restrictions about dpi and such too. The small icon must be the same as the big icon and so on.

Check everything and if everything seems to be ok, but you still get error, contact apple directly.

This forum is for you to help with Game Salad, not really for apple stuff.

    Thanks Tekkendp

We've been optimizing all weekend. Hope to have a fresh beta up next week...we redesigned the county fair course completely (to optimize the containment actor counts)...more open with more bump action.

Good Luck with your new game.

Thanks Hunnenkoenig. I did plow my way through that crazy maze of Apple documentation. The problem was due to me using the Application Loader, not the icon itself. It seems like, as long as you use iTunes Connect instead, all is good (well for me in this case anyway).

I now ashamed by opening this thread, but I was completely frustrated by the sheer amount of stuff you have to do get your app ready for approval (and even then it can still get rejected). Anyway, problem solved.

Good luck to you too Synthesis.

Just out of curiouslty, are you using particle effects for stars (when the actors bump each other)? If so, don't you get a fps hit when running it on the iPhone?
  • synthesissynthesis Member Posts: 1,693
Don't be ashamed...maybe someone else will read it and learn from it.

BTW: Your last post (with the details about the resolution) was what I was suggesting you post earlier.

    later!

    Guys,

Need some help badly with submitting my game. I am getting the "Application failed codesign verification" problem. I have both distributor and developer certs. I have the app file and zip file ready. Bundle IDs are same as apple and application. Do I have to do something in Xcode? Am I missing out something? Please help.
