@tenrdrmer (or anyone else who has used TestFlight recently)- Testflight has changed their look. Do you know if the video that you made still applies?

Thanks

So the idea is you need to start by gathering email addresses of potential beta testers and then invite them to test your app. Then once you have their device UDIDs you add them to the adhoc profile as @tenrdrmer shows and package your app file as shown?

What has me confused is that on the TestFlight site they make it look like the process starts by building your app. Then getting testers. It would seem that with GS we need to find our testers, get their UDIDs, and then build the app and upload to TestFlight.

How is this easier than just asking people for their UDIDs in an email?

@scitunes - when you publish your app via GameSalad, your provisioning profile must have the devices of your testers. If you don't do this, when you build with Testflight it will not accept your testers.

If you invite people to use testflight, they receive an email asking them to register their device.this is done by installing a certificate. When it's installed, their device is automatically added to your account. You still have to take the UNIDO manually and create the profile.

However, what makes testflightapp awesome is when you upload a build, it automatically emails the users, keeps track of who receives the email, who opens it and who installs the package. It also allows people to load the app wherever they are as long a they have a wifi connection. When I'm at work, I can use logmein to connect baek home and do a build, then use testflightapp to get that adhoc build on my iPad in boston.

    It's a really great service.

@scitunes you do need to have your testers lined before you build your app. testflight only provides a means of collecting the UDID's as well as an easy means for installing the adhocs. your provisioning profiles will need to have all your testers UDID's

Another cool thing about testflight though since you probably have a bunch of UDID's from past testing is that testflight checks for any UDID in your profile that matches an existing testflight account. You are then also able to send them the build without them being on your team. I didn't know they have changed the layout so i'll have to check it out but I would expect that the process is exactly the same.

OK that makes sense. They've just rearranged their website so it makes it seem like things are out of order. Maybe non-GS apps are different or something.
