Does anyone know what might be causing me to get the following error when uploading to Google Play? My file name is shop_android.apk I also tried shop.android.apk

"The package name of your apk (null) is invalid. Package names must start with a character and can only contain characters, numbers, underscores and dots. They must have at least one dot, cannot end with a dot, and cannot contain any runs of more than one consecutive dot."

I have 8 things on google play.. so it's totally supported.

I can only assume you have done something wrong somewhere along the line with the name.

What is Android publishing if not on Google play? Only Amazon?

Part 4 of the Android publishing tutorials said...

"1. Enter in an Android Package Name – This is the name that will be used on the back end to identify your application"

I am going to retry publishing with a different package name to see what happens. But I am still disturbed that you can't publish on Google play?
