Hey everyone,
Does anybody know where i can find some tutorials on how to make a 2D character for my game
I can make nice environments but characters is my WEAK point (it goes beyond ugly)

So if someone has anything that could help me i would appreciate it.

EDIT: I failed big time!

And i use Photoshop to create it

@Nettekoven Lol the internet is a big place. You can go to Youtube and look for tutorials on drawing or you can look up art kits on amazon. Those are always good places to start. I don't have any specific videos or anything to give you. Sorry.

you're gonna have to learn anatomy if you want realistic human proportions. this is going into a whole other realm from cartoony sprites. the best way to learn is through books and also life drawing. yes drawing people in the nude. find a good book about using construction. it will give you the fundamentals to be able to draw the human body in any position. i'd recommend books by Burne Hogarth and Andrew Loomis if you can find them.

@xforce after reading your post i noticed i didn't put the right word for realistic (fail)
I mean characters from Shank 2 (that kind of style)
Sorry for the fail i made (i'm tired after creating art all day)

havnt heard of shank 2 but i just had a look at it. well you definetly wouldnt need to go as far as life drawing but it would still help. in the case of the art style for shank 2 id still recommend those books. characters/animation like that is based off using construction. its the best way to draw/animate characters.

@tatiang Thanks, But already have used that a week ago but didn't improve anything because it's not the style i'm looking for.
I'll go and try to make a 2D character again.
And if it's oke i'll post the finished product here,
So i can get some feedback and what i can improve

@Nettekoven it's fine to post illustrations here for feedback or advice. I've moved it to the appropriate subforum.
