Hey everybody!
My app has been on the Apple store for a while now and I've finally got it polished to a standard I'm happy with. The artwork is a bit.....=/ and theres still a few more features to be added but I wanted to start doing some marketing work on it first. It is a mash'em up style game, and carries a very simple concept but does take awhile to get use to but once you get past that it shows potential to become quite addictive.
This is my first 'real' project (by 'real' I mean it was the first app I created where I fully understood what I was doing with the attributes, rules and behaviours) and only my second since I've join GameSalad in Nov/Dec 2011. I must give credit to this awesome community as all of the problems I've had, I have been able to find the solutions just by looking through the forums/tutorials! (Don't laugh but I spent 5 hours trying to figure out why my attributes weren't saving and loading before I looked in the forum and found out that I shouldn't have the keys typed in the expression editor. - New GameSalad members might want to take note of this!!)
I had a lot of fun with this project and messed around a lot too. Because of this, I was able to create some pretty cool special effects as you'll see in the video.
For the last couple of days, I've been trying to think of cheap ways to help my app gain some popularity (because lets face it, I don't have 1000's lying around to pay for a strong marketing team) but have not come up with anything awe inspiring yet. One of the thoughts I had was to create a viral video not just showing my app but a selection of the best by GameSalad users. I was wondering if anybody had done this yet and would GameSalad allow it? I'm not saying I would do it as it's just an idea and I've got no experience in video editing either, but considering in the last 6 months I've self taught myself photoshop and GameSalad I'm pretty sure I could teach myself a few video techniques! Anyway, what do you guys think?

(There is new meta data and extra screen shots that hasn't been updated yet.)
Sorry for the poor focus, I didn't realise how close the camera was. You might want to turn your speakers down a bit :P

Thanks!
Also, you should get a hand model - those man hands of yours won't sell the game!
In all seriousness, if your target market for a Ninja game is mainly a male audience, you can probably do well by having a female hand playing the game. If it is a cute girl, then start your video with her saying how much she loves the game, and then cut to her playing it and laughing and having fun while playing. Then the cover of your video should be the picture of her with the iphone.
I know it is cliche, but sex still sells... This is how you go viral...
Another thing... As others have mentioned, you NEED gameplay screenshots. That is what huge amounts of people look at first. Also, your description is simply too small. You need to give people stuff to read about your app if they want to.
Hope those ideas will boost downloads,
Jack McGraw
