I am interested in starting to make my own art, but I don't know where to begin...

Hello Everybody,
As I am almost done with my first game, I want to invest some time into really learning how to create some cool graphics for future games to come. My budget is pretty low at around $50 (could maybe, maybe, go to $100), and don't know what to spend it on.
I am aware that Adobe Illustrator is out of question, which is too bad, at like $600. I have stumbled across this program called PixelMator (http://www.pixelmator.com/) that is at $30, and it looks like it would be my best bet as of right now.
Does anybody know of any other options that I should consider?
Thanks!

JohnPapiomitis Posts: 6,256You can get inkscape and start on these tutorials if your interested in vector art. Inkscape is free too and very similar to illustrator.

How have I never seen this before?? Thank you so much!
@SpriteAttack
Your tutorials are absolutely amazing, and have convinced me to download Inkscape right now.
Thank you!

Hope that helps!
Thanks!
Yes, I am a student in 8th grade. I'll look into that if I decide I don't like Inkscape.
Thanks!
