Appstore Icon - Perfect Rounded Corners

okay if you're wanting to make those nice looking borders inside your icon but dont know how to get the shape right to work with Apple's automatic corner rounding then use this.

but you might be wondering why would you bother using this if Apple are going to do it automatically? Because as some of you may have noticed some appstore icons have VERY specific designs that have been made pixel perfect so that the border of the art is within the rounded corner region. so just make sure your art falls within the confines of that shape and it should be visible down to the exact pixel after apple does their processing. do make sure that you apply a background colour behind still because i believe there can still be issues with transparent regions. also please do take note of the anti-aliasing on the corners. your art should not go outside that vague border either.

Thanks, but is this the iPhone or iPad version of the icon? I like to find the PDF masks in the iPhone simulator contents.

Or you can use this all in one icon generating wonder in Photoshop. http://appicontemplate.com/

@zoyt. thanks for pointing that out. heres a link to the ipad version

    Ipad size

@ellfire good link. though i personally disagree with using anything that auto-helps someone make art

if anyone is interested for reference the 512px icon size uses a 90px rounded corner radius while the 1024px icon size uses a 177px rounded corner radius.
