Is it possible to delete an app id?

Ok, so I'm in Itunes connect, clicked manage Apps, Then I filled out the info and it said "error, App name already exists, please select a new name." What should I do?

    Come up with a new name, once its taken.. its taken. Deleting it won't make available, plus if it says its taken, it sounds like you didn't register it, so how could you possibly delete someone else's app ID?
