Hey everybody,

I don't know if anybody saw project glass from yesterday. It is pretty cool, another incredible product from google's secret google x lab :-$

For all of you who haven't seen the video here is the link, this is not a prank it is legit I saw it on CNN

Of course it is years from being for the public, if it ever will be for the public. I am worried there would be too many health concerns causing migraines or stress to the eyes.

What do all of you think about this product and its future?

@youngster9 .. yeah I saw that also, very cool. Except with Google you will likely have to view ads all day on it also .. lol. I think they could solve the eye stress/health issues since the military pilots use these things when flying so I'd expect since we're seeing millions of things all the time, our brain would get used to it. My concern is how it might (without training) screw up peoples motor skills, kind of like talking on the phone and driving does. Imagine how many people will get run over playing Angry Birds on that thing whilst walking the streets :D

Yeah, but haven't I already been doing that with my iphone?
Still cool and certainly a page/cel right out of science fiction!

I can see how there will be traffic laws blowback for drivers and cyclist though.
No! I swear these are prescription officer!

Mapping out the individual store's is actually just ridiculous. Obviously it'll only support a certain amount of stores, but still!

They may become illegal due to dangers such as falling down a flight of stairs,

skip to 0:50 for the action ;)

Sure looks cool via the video; I wondering if it's practical and how many accidents it could cause, even just walking down the road... concentrating on the icons instead of looking where you're going...

So can't be a brain implant ;-) – gotta be glasses, right? So now it's even more difficult to check out who's an unfortunate soul talking to their invisible friend, or a specs-wearing Google glass user as well as the hidden-earpiece mobile natterer....

I wonder how you "Accept" or "Cancel"; somehow detected with a blink? It's going to be interesting to see if this takes off in any big way if it gets out of the "secret google x lab"....

If it does, the update is sure to add to the augmented reality to include gaming... laser-guns to the ready.... "for private home-use or in a controlled non-public place" being added to the license... that's if you're not mugged there either...

The Layar app for iPhone does some of that, as do other AR-enabled apps. Cool stuff.

The funny thing is that in the video they show him socializing and using his glasses, in reality it will be one more way for people to be disconnected from their environment and real-life. If it wasn't enough for people to walk around with their faces in their phones, now even when they look at you, they are not really looking at you.

There is no question in my mind that a variation of this is the future, but I'm not sure that what we really need is to be 'more connected'. As for the product, I guess it will be geeky at least until Apple will do it and than it will be cool (and actually usable).
