1) You really need an intro screen...to explain controls and gameplay 2) I think you need to slow it down a bit...ship gets going too fast...slowing it down will allow better player control 3) tighten up your HUD. It looks great...but needs to be a little more refined and a little smaller. 4) add more textures in the rocks. They look good as a start...just add more texture to them...more in line with the quality of your space background. 5) If this is for web only...then arrows are fine...otherwise if its for iPod...need a joystick!!! 6) add a storyline and develop lots of levels (at least 50)!!! 7) add interesting debris...like flying toasters and meteoric comets and monkey astronauts...or whatever.
Great start...keep going with this...its got great potential...just needs a little more polishing!!! Do the suggestions above and I think you might have a 25-50+ download per day game at $.99
There is "polished"...and then there is POLISHED!!! I'm talking...REALLY POLISHED...which makes it a stand-out...not one of the other hum-drum thousands like it.
um ... am i missing something? Im only seeing the hud and after 30 seconds or so it beeps and i loose a ship 'press n to spawn a new ship', spawn and then same happens again!
You are right...it was intentional actually (i spelled it right in a couple of places accidentally and had to change it)...
Its actually used both ways...and your way is grammatically correct but the other way which I used is more slang and suggests something more fun (IMO).
@Eastbound: Right now the multidirectional fire was just testing something out. I haven't finalized weapons, so right now the lasers aren't at the right speed, sound effects are temporary, etc.
Also, the glitching with the particles seems random. Not sure if it's a GameSalad thing or what, but sometimes the particles will continue, other times they'll stop.

There's not much to do yet. I haven't created any enemies or anything.
I also thought it was odd that I could fire in all 4 directions... it seems that I could just rotate my ship and only fire straight.
The game looks great, I just found it a little hard to control.

I really like this!
