I have finally finished my game Curse of the Vampire for Mac OS.
It can be downloaded from my website: http://philltecgames.weebly.com/
Please have a look and tell me what you think. (Unless you think it sucks!)

the download site sucks! very, very slow and not easy to spot where to click
try dropbox.com … it is free!
nice that the game plays small screen … hate large screen games on desktop!
I had great difficulty in getting anywhere as my control keys act as shortcuts
EX … [control]+[upArrow] changes my desktops!
so, I sucked at doing your game!
I would have preferred a spaceBar press rather than control press for fire.
I personally like this old style adventure look/play!
Thanx!

I strongly recommend you at least change to dropbox, or better yet buy some server space. You can get your own webspace for like $6 a month now.
In addition to not liking the download site you picked, I did like your idea for the game, but I felt like the enemies were too repetitive, that it needs a mini-map, that is NEEDS sounds, and that I wanted some incentive for killing enemies. I found that most of the time, I just avoided the enemies when I could because there isn't a score/money/powerup to get for killing them.
Also, if it's a finished game, the instructions should be better/longer and there should be some explanation or story that leads into what's happening in the game.
I do think you have a good start, though!

Thanks for the info on file factory. I only signed up as I couldn't upload anything to mediafire.
@MotherHoose I guess ctrl is used for a lot of shortcuts. I should have thought of that.
@ tatiang With regard to sounds, I was going for a ZX Spectrum feel, games like Firelord or Curse of Sherwood. Now you mention it, there is no incentive to kills enemies. I was hoping if they were annoying enough, they would need to be killed to get past them!
Thanks for all your feedback.
don't get discouraged … take the lovely advice that @tatiang gave you and go for it!
we both feel with a little more work you have a very good playing game!
and, something worth your efforts/talents
certainly, if you have the beginning and the middle and the end done … adding music and a reward system and a mini-map will only make your good start … a better game!
