I have some strange figures here and would love some general feedback. I made both of my games free for the weekend. I posted separately about the 2 apps on twitter and facebook. Neither app had any special treatment or promotion. However, usually when they go free, one of the apps gets about 10x more downloads than the other. Last night this was even more one-sided and I recieved 500 downloads for the first app and only 5 for the other! That's 100x more!

Personally I think the 2nd app is better. So my question is, can anyone see any reason why the second app does so much worse than the first? Is it the icon? The name? The space theme? I'd love some opinions! Names and icons below. By the way please feel free to download either of these while they are free:

Yep, I am thinking that the word "Ninja" is making the difference in the search results leading to the downloads. People probably want to download Fruit Ninja and then see your game and think, "Ninjas are cool, I should check out all of the these cool looking Ninja games listed here until I have to expand the search screen..."

Hmm I was thinking that might be the case. A very interesting lesson to be learned if true. The name might be even more crucial than the icon for success. Maybe I'll call my next game 'Doodle ninja jetpack birds infinity' :P
