Got Listed on New and Noteworthy!

So, the sales of Zeus Ball (Mac version) went up a tiny bit yesterday. So, I jumped on the Mac appstore to check it out... and low and behold, it's listed in the "New and Noteworthy" section. How awesome is that? (it's not right on the front page though, you either have to click 'see all' next the the New and Noteworthy on the main page, or go to categories and games and it'll be in the New and Noteworthy there.)

    Yep you're on the front page of the UK Mac store. Nice one :)

    I had a go of the iPad version - I like the control system. There is something satisfying about the way the ball zips around.

    An animation on destroyed blocks, e.g puff or smoke or something could be nice.

    Yeah, I'm excited... I have no idea how much it'll affect the sales though. Honestly, I'm not sure how good the stuff on the Mac Appstore sells anyways (I don't think it's anywhere near the volume of the iTunes store).

    @HoneyTrbeStudios - I actually had a brown explosion on the destroying Earth blocks early on in development, but the first time I put it on an iPad it slowed things down... so I pulled it back out. I still consider myself new to GS, so am working on my skill as far as getting code that's optimized. After pulling that back out, things sped up, and I never thought about putting it back. I'll have to see if I can figure out how to put it back, maybe as a pool of explosions being reused instead of spawning like I was earlier. I think it was not only the spawning, but also the internal timers associated with the animation that caused the slowness... I'll investigate further.

    Yeah you could reuse the same actors instead of spawning. You'd prob need a few of them though as the player will be destroying a few blocks at a time in some levels.

    @Braydon_SFX - Well, it's only been on the Mac store for 3 days. The first two days was 1-2 sales per day, and yesterday was 6. I'm not sure when it got posted to New and Noteworthy. Pretty sure the up tick in sales is due to this, but not sure if it only happened late last night, or this morning, or what, and if tomorrow's sales will be similar or exponentially greater. Here's to hoping for greater.
