Wanting to upload binary using Application Loader....

Hi, I've done something wrong here - I'm guessing it's a silly mistake this first time I'm uploading a binary to Apple via the Application Loader (latest version).
When I click Choose to choose the published app via GS publishing, the .app shows up as grey and so can't be selected....
Any help appreciated, thanks.

Gravity Bounce Is On the app store!
Another hurdle now: when I pressed Send, I got the warning: "Application failed code sign verification. The signature was invalid, contains disallowed entitlements, or it was not signed with an iPhone Distribution Certificate".
I can quite get where I went wrong in the process; perhaps when I typed in Bundle ID into the GSC publishing page it's because I didn't include the number that went before the App ID? My certificates are OK, as far as I'm aware.... any help, please!! (So near and yet so far.....)
Edit: just opened your web page to look at your publishing tutorial - looking comprehensive, thanks! Hopefully that'll answer my prob...

OK, off to try again...

In the Publishing section of publishing to GameSalad to get the binary, where it has a drop-down menu to select Provisioning Profile, the PP I made for my game wasn't showing, so I chose iOS Team Provisioning Profile•
I've just seen a note by this in the iOS Provisioning Portal which reads "Managed by Xcode". I assumed this was like a generic profile that would find my game provisioning profile but I see that it probably isn't/won't... and that I should have selected the specific provisioning profile for my app.... but as I say, it wasn't showing in the drop-down menu....
Any advice appreciated, thanks.

I don't know why your Provisioning Profile isn't showing up.
I assume you downloaded it.
What I would do is hook up your iPhone to your Mac and then click on the Provisioning Profile you want, then it should bring up Xcode and do the stuff it needs to do.
Then close and reopen GameSalad and try publishing again. That should work. Although, I've never had this problem.
It's always hard the first time, I know from experience.

I see... a pattern... forming before my very eyes....
Seriously, thanks guys; I assumed... oh, never mind what I assumed! Enough to say i didn't download the PP nor open it in Xcode. Another lesson learned so that won't happen next time!
By the way, is it absolutely necessary for me to connect my iPad up if it's publishing to Apple? (I would have thought I would only need to do this if installing the Viewer or an adhoc...)
OK, I've double clicked the download and it's now in Provisioning Profiles Library list in the "Organiser - Devices" window of Xcode... um, sorry, what's next? Just close Xcode and get another binary made now with the PP magically showing up in the drop down menu?

The PP is showing in the drop down menu now of the publishing section of GSC publishing, so I'm about to try yet again to get the binary downloaded and off we go again.
Thanks again, Braydon & Leonard. There shouldn't be any more questions now about publishing... I hope... !

Nope, only do that if you need to get an adhoc build on your device.
Then, if you created a PP that has "App Store" checked, you can start going through the process of publishing.
I find this helpful.

The "App Store" checked next to the PP worries me (I've just read that in the Cookbook; I didn't do this as I don't remember seeing the option); I'm certain that TSB's vid will be invaluable to help there, and I can start from square one again, and finally knock this first one on the head!
Then, of course, any subsequent apps published to the store will be plain sailing.... hopefully... ;-)
Thanks again for your help!
PS Braydon, as you were one of the two people who offered to beta test End of the Earth for me, I'd like you have a thingy code (I've forgotten what they're called... I think all of this publishing malarky has frazzled my brain...)
Anyhow, if you'd like a copy of the app, drop me an email at
contact [at] davidgriffinapps.co.uk and I'll gladly send you the code... thingy... ;-)

Code thingy...Hmm. Are you going to use TestFlight? That would be nice.
But hey, ill shoot you an email now.
PS. If you have already have a Provisioning Profile that you used to test, you can just edit or modify it and change that checked box from adhoc to appstore. Then just redownload it and then your ready to go!

I've finished beta testing now (I decided the game wasn't too complex and so me and the wife checked it out from an ad hoc; so I mean the code to submit on the app store for you to get a free copy of the app.... I swear, if my life depended on it, I can't remember what they are called... it's either my age catching up with me or lack of sleep...

You mean a promotional code. Just a quick question, is this just for iPhone or for iPad as well?

Anyhow, when it's accepted (or if....) by Apple I'll send you a promotional code for the app because you kindly offered to beta test for me.
Phew, got there... :-)

It's submitted? Yay! Congrats.

It's still publishing via GSC publishing and I think I've got it right this time.... my mistakes with my other attempts were silly really, I thought I would be able to remember how to publish seeing as I'd already published an ad hoc.
Still not sure if i've done right with the orientation though; in the game file, its set as left for Device and interface orientation, and I clicked both left and right in the GSC publishing... I remember reading a while back that my app might fail because of that... oh well, I live and learn, and wait and see...

Exciting, publishing your first app for Apple's approval, isn't it?! :-)
A sincere thank you to the GS team, for an excellent piece of software that is GSC and the seamless publishing aspect; excellent stuff. (I always sound old-fashioned when I'm tired... time I was off to bed... goodnight!)
