PNG or SVG?

Hi could somebody help me in this question? What's better...PNG or SVG for the game perfomance and visualization?

    In the last update of gamesalad said that it support svg, for that reason i wanted to know which is better and why speaking about gamesalad perfomance.

    think this confusion with terms:

    SVG … scalable vector graphics … XML file used in web graphics … to draw an image
    CVS … comma separated values … a text file used in tables … to set values for a cell

    and, between png and svg which is best depends on which type of image you want to show
