Concept art for a Galastar boss idea. The ship is called the Hydra because of the seven cockpits, or "heads" coming out of the body of the ship. Yes, I know that the actual monster had 5 heads, but it doesn't really matter. It still has several heads, which symbolizes the Hydra. This is actually the second drawing. The FIRST one was thrown away by a janitor at lunch, so I had to redraw the WHOLE THING by memory, which came out pretty well. here are the different ways I've had planned to defeat it.
Complicated way: Each head has it's own unique projectile that it will shoot. they will follow the lasers you shoot, so, in order to hurt another head, you have to "guide" the projectiles to another head other than the one that shot the projectile, and the center head. All of the heads except for the center head or invulnerable to their own projectiles, once you do that, the head will be stunned and vulnerable to your laser, allowing you to deal some damage to it. When all of the 6 heads on the side of the ship are destroyed. The center heads is now vulnerable. allowing you to bounce it's attacks back at it. This way of killing the boss is VERY insane, and you will most likely die multiple times trying to beat it.
Simple way: Each head still has a unique projectile, but before each head shoots, it starts blinking red, this makes it vulnerable allowing you to take action and shoot it. The middle head is still invulnerable until all of the other heads are destroyed, allowing you to do exactly what you did to the other heads
