Is now a good time to release?

Dear all,
I've had an app ready for a while now!, I'm not going to announce it on the forums yet! Until it's published (I'm doing a @quantumsheep on it! :D )
So I avoided the Christmas rush.... But then after Xmas there's the "indie after Xmas rush" when indies upload all there games! :) so I think I've avoided both of those, but anyway... Would you guys say now is a good time to release? Or will I hold off?
Thanks in advance,
LeonardDeveloper

    I would say go ahead, it's Chinese New Year - Year of the Dragon, good for business they say. The feng shui of your post is also highly auspicious, strongly pointing to yes :P Now excuse me while I go meditate....hummm...ba..baaa

    The only times I'd seriously avoid are Xmas, Easter, July 4th, Halloween and Thanksgiving.

    Historically, prices from the big boys are slashed in sales at those times, and you're competing with professional games selling for the same price as your own games.

    Other than that, it's a free for all ;)

    QS :D

    Dude, all you are avoiding is days you can make money. Once a day is passed an your app is not on the store, you will have 0 sales for that day. The Christmas holiday has always been the best time of year for me for app sales, and January has always been the best month. This includes apps launched 1.5 years ago. I do not get why you waited.

    @chobbiface
    Yes the year of the dragon!, I'm looking forward to sales...*meditating* :P
    @quantumsheep
    As always a pleasure to hear from your sheepy wisdomness! :P Ya... That's why I was worrying about big devs... But recently I've seen some indie games coming back up to the top again....
    @greenrhyno I've never seen you around the forums before! :) actually for most devs the Xmas holidays arent the best.... Especially for indie devs....

    Hi Leonard,
    I've been around a while.

    I totally disagree with you about Christmas sales. Do you actually have apps with sales data to back that up. I've never heard that xmas was bad for anyone ever for app sales. Biggest day of the year for every dev, and the biggest week is Christmas to New Years. I doubt you will find any data that shows otherwise.

    Also, why worry so much about the release. Right now updates are appearing in New Releases anyways so essentially you get a New Release every update. I say get your game in the store, update it sometimes if you want and move on to the next games.

    @greenrhyno
    I have three apps of my own.... And 8 client apps, and even more with some other people i do some work with!,
    I'm not talking about Xmas sales.... I'm talking about if you release in Xmas.... They'll get buried by big dev's.....
    Apart from that, thanks for your post! :)
