Stop all sound after scene change

RPRP Member Posts: 1,990
Alright, I got one that has is being a pain.

I have a 30 second animated intro movie with a Voice Over track, a music track, and two additional sound effects tracks.
I placed a skip button on this scene so players do not have to watch the intro each time they play.
The issue I am having is that after I click skip, the VO still plays into the next scene. How can I tell all sound to stop playing when switching a scene? I'm messing with the attributes right now, but if anyone has had some experience with this any suggestions would be great!

Thanks!

Hi Dane, just before the change scene behavior (with a timer - after the many seconds of interpolate), interpolate the device music audio to 0, then in the next scene, then just before the change scene, use a stop music behavior. In your next scene in an actor outside of the screen, set the music audio back to 1.

If you just want it to stop suddenly, then put a stop music behavior just before the change scene behavior. :-)

    Thanks David.

I forgot to mention that I have a stop music behavior in the next scene. Which cuts the music (not on timer) and other sounds on a timer in the previous scene just not the voice over (not on timer). I also removed it as part of the troubleshooting below.

I followed your steps and I thought the interpolate had it (that killed the sound perfectly), but now my audio totally cuts out on the next scene and wont comeback on. After removing the behaviors, my sound is mute in all scenes. Including when I reload the project. I had not saved before then, so I just reopened GS and all was fine, but the audio issue returned as soon as I tried those steps again. After I hit my skip button all audio is gone throughout the game. No fun.

Thanks for the help. I have been working far to long on this for a Sunday. I'm probably overlooking something simple. I'm going break away until tomorrow morning when my head is fresh.

I know what it's like working on GS when you're tired (as do a lot of other people I'm sure! Don't forget to set the music volume back to 1 in an actor outside of the screen of the next scene... probably that... (I can't think straight either at the moment... 2.18am here... time I was sleeping, goodnight all!)
