There's an interesting thread going over at Touch Arcade. As expected there are mixed opinions but for the most part very positive - and they even seem impressed with Gamesalad too, here's a couple of quotes:
"Moving around is really smooth and it seems to haves good design with strong atmosphere and intuitive mechanics. This takes GameSalad to new heights."
"First off, yes...this is a GameSalad game, but I'm glad to say that it doesn't hinder the experience one bit. There's frequent loading between areas, and it's unbelievable how quick the loading is considering this is made with GS. If the only reason you're NOT picking this up is because of GameSalad, you can rest assure it isn't a factor AT ALL.")

However Moonwalls you did very kindly send me a promo code for The Train - so I'll make just one exception.

Unfortunately it got absolutely buried in the mass of post-xmas releases... so don't hold out much hope for good sales :-(
How far have you got? Are you stuck yet???
Kinda reminds me of The Elder Scrolls: Arena but with Zombies xD
Bet it make loads of sales.
The note on the wall refers to detail "both large and small". Walk around the room and check the walls - you'll find an odd looking brick.
It may be of interest to some of you...
If you like what you see - you know where you can get it ;-)
...attention to detail. This game is positively bursting at the seams with it. It feels like no corridor, no wall, has simply been randomly put in place. The game creates a truly cohesive world through the combination of its level design and narrative, a very deliberately paced experience, that so easily transcends its technical limitations that it's almost astounding.

...you're absolutely right; the attention to detail and level design in this game are just out of this world. I may be going overboard here, but this really does feel like it could have been a port of an old-school classic.
Constructive criticism:
I know it gets all Zombies and stuff later on, but the start of the game seems a bit repetitive. Someone like me would of gotten frustrated by then. (maybe)
I think the background music could be a bit louder.
But really, I do think it's really original and a GS first, other than the points I just made it's great. Detailed and is interesting.
Just the learning period seems repetitive.
Definitely a project to be proud of though. I hope my points help.
@ ozboybrian:
Constructive criticism always welcome. This game certainly won't be everyones cup of tea, its a real niche market that anyone below the age of 30-35 probably won't appreciate! In many ways it's a homage to 'Dungeon Master' - the daddy of dungeon crawlers released in 1987 on the AtariST, and the top selling game ever on that system. Dungeon grinding was a huge part of that game and in comparison there is very little in this game.
But yeah, there has certainly been a mixed response. I think you just need an old-school heart to really enjoy it... and I bet you're not as old as me! ;-)
The dungeon is created from a number of images that tile together and are either visible or invisible based on an attribute generated by the players position. Depending which are on or off it can look like a corridor, an open room, a pillar etc. Other images are resized and positioned accordingly. Its been a huge amount of work to get right!
Any chance you will release on the Mac store? We only have one iPad but my kids both have iMacs
Yeah I may release on the Mac Store. I'm currently upscaling everything to ipad size - so hopefully should be able build a mac store version from that. Its taking time though because the day job gets in the way!
I still haven't got enough itunes ratings for a star score - so if anyones enjoying it and fancies leaving me a nice score please do! ;-)
If you haven't picked it up yet and want to see GS do something a little different - then nows your chance!

Sales wise - its been pretty slack really!
In general all feedback has been great, the few reviews its received have been positive but it just seems to have no app-store visibility.
I'll be releasing an ipad HD version soon - and then a mac store one too, so fingers crossed it may catch the attention of someone important!
