Help: Stuck in keystore password when trying to publish an Android game

osalzanoosalzano Member, PRO Posts: 136
I did everything as explained in tenrdrmer's video and I can generate the keystore without any problem. But when I select it in the GS Publishing Manager, I insert the Keystore Password (the same i used with the keytool) and nothing happens. I get stuck, with the "!" appearing beside the password field. Everything seem to be configured properly. Have anyone ever experienced an issue like this? How can I solve it?
Tks in advance! ;-)

I haven't experienced this exact problem. you're saying it creates the keystore fine.. but doesn't like your password? perhaps you should try using a different password.. make sure it accepts it.. i know this might not be a great suggestion, but it seems like the issue is the password so maybe a variation on that might give a different result

    good luck!

Did you hit "enter" ? GS keep changing the interface.

I recommend you read the section from the Android Developer site http://developer.android.com/guide/publishing/app-signing.html so you realise that you only make ONE keystore for the life of All your various Android apps but that it is VITAL you don't loose it or forget passwords as updates to your apps have to be signed with the same key.

    Thanks for the help, guys!

@Rob2 Yes, I pressed enter... GS publhisher seems to receive the password but doesn´t returns any message. Weird!
I even tried to create a kesystore with a simple password, like "123456" and got the same problem.
I reported the issue to the support and they are being very helpful. Let's wait for a solution.

There must be an error with the keystore you created - I do not think it is a problem with GS publisher. VERY IMPORTANT - make sure you 'type' in the line command in your terminal window - do not paste it from somewhere - especially the last number: 10000. If you paste it in it will still create a keystore but it could be corrupt. This happened to me and the only way was to create a new one manually typed in the terminal.

I sent my issue to the support, a couple days ago, and after trying several solutions, nothing worked for me.
So they asked me to try changing my Mac OS language to english (I was using Portuguese). Bingo, it worked!
