iPhone 3GS Running out of memory (or it is my game?)

I've noticed for a while that sometimes my game stutters quite a bit. I've done a lot of testing and worked out it only happens on 3GS when I'm running a lot of other apps in the background.

Sometimes in very rare case, some actors will be deleted making the game unplayable, so the user has to restart the game (hopefully they'll be ok with that and won't give me 1 star rating).

My min device for this project is 3GS, doesn't seem to happen with iPhone 4 and above. Anyone else encountered something similar to this?

    If you run a lot of apps in the background and your game is big then you might have issue

    What is the ram usage of your game?

    ram starts off at 38, then crawls up slowly each time the game is restarted. I got it up to about 48, but was having no issues.

    My game doesn't reload any scenes either, once the game is loaded, it plays the scene over and over again, all the actors are loaded. So there are quite a lot of actors loaded on screen (well quite a lot for GS anyway).
