Confused about app store release date

When I submitted bumper drop, I set the release day as the 18th. Today I got the email saying it was ready for submission, and I immediately changed the availability to the 17th.

Well today is the 16th, and I can see my app in the store when I search for it. Shouldn't I not be able to until tomorrow morning?

Does this not affect my showing on the recently added games?

    you can see it in the app store if you search for it, a few hours after it has been approved.

    It will appear in the "New Releases" section on the day you have it set for.

    I thought it was the other way... that you shouldn't be able to see it until it appears in the store the day you set the release date for the app.....

    By the way, what app did you release? :))
