Hi!
I present you our new game!

It took us 1 year to make the game!
And finally it is on the App Store!

Here you have the description in App Store:
Adventure Island is a game about your life in an island which is reigned by a bad king. You decide to fight with him to repair your homeland.
To get this achievement, you can choose one of three monsters. They will be your allies to get your goal.

Generally, there are 18 monsters which can attack you all over the island. Other people would also like to prevent your victory and they wait for you in the streets.

The game has been made by two persons (17 and 18 years old) for over 1 year! Yeah, we know that it has not quite a good graphics. But we have to start with something! :)

We are grateful to everybody who buys and downloads our game.

Enjoy playing it!

Yeah I'm sorry but I have to agree with Portgas, with those graphics you can't charge more than $0.99.

Portgas is little harsh on you but he's kind of right. The art is (especially all the buttons and fonts) not anywhere good enough for a 1 year project.

Don't want to let your hopes down but I don't think this will get many sales. Try consulting with an artist on the forums..

That's a bit harsh Portgas. Aldo, put up an iTunes link and we'll have a look at Adventure Island.

First off congrats on completing it. Not most people can see a whole project a year threw and complete it. Now i cant see with Portgas said but ill give you my constructive critism on it. I would never pour a whole year into a project and then release with graphics liek that. They look extremly unprofessional and will bring the game down. Most of them arent even cropped out right and have pixelated edges. Not trying to sound harsh but its the truth.

You can obviously program and know how to put a game together - from start to finish - (more than I can do !) so well done completing such a big task (especially for a couple of teenagers) - but I will echo what other people here have said, hook up with an art student or illustrator and I am sure you can only keep improving.

Regardless, well done, the game looks like fun.

Thanks for all comments. I know that graphic is not quite good, but I would like to point out that I'm only 18 years old, and I don't have too much money to hire any artist :(
Of course I will continue to develop this game! :)

Don't hire an artist, no need for money . . . . . find someone the same age as you who is as good with art and visuals as you are at game design and coding . . . . and come to an arrangement with him/her . . . cut them in on the profits . . . you work for free and so will they.

graphic doesn't seem like a problem. i'd play it if the story is good and game is fun. just like people will play a stick figure game... the problem is there's inconsistancy in the graphics. and it'll throw people off... it's like having a stick figure game with photographic characters too... pm me a promo code, and i'll take a look here. don't be discouraged, if you spend a year on this, i doubt that it'll be as crappy as it looks. that begin said, i love the logo (and i have no idea why i love this kind of crazy scratch .. maybe it's my inner david carson... i remember there's a fellow member with icon of a fish reaper? he'd have loved your logo too. anyway. just offering up my assistance for you.. if it's even remotely fun i'll help you out.

i'm a big rpg game, infact 90% of the games i purchase are rpg. and i'd have to say, besides using animal as your character, this looks like all other old school rpg. . not just pokemon.. so i wouldn't worry about it.. there's more rpg that uses animal as fighters than you can think of.. don't be discouraged. great job on putting your effort do diligently into a single thing, most of us do not have the luxury to create anything nearly as complex as a RPG game, we just don't have the time.. like i said if your core story and gameplay is even remotely semi-solid ..all it will take is some polishing to get it to a desirable game. i have not even seen a single RPG game that live up to the standard of being called an RPG on iTunes. so any new coming challenge is always welcoming... again, if you want i'm be more than happy to take a look to see where i can help you with. i have lots of respect for someone who has the dedication like you... that says a lot about a person's character.

Old school graphics are fine if that's the way you want to go, but as mentioned above, in that case you need to be consistent about it. But the buttons and fonts kill it, as this shows the the graphics themselves to not result from a conceptual or artistic choice, but from a lack of know-how. The good thing is that this can be easily fixed with the help of a good designer.

Yeh man after putting a year of hard work into it, try and find a way of getting better graphics. Find someone your age who is good at art or save for an artist.
The logo is appealing as @Ultima said. The fish logo guy you're referring to is @old_kipper i believe ... in fact i know thats who you're referring too. ha.

hey I think if you learn photoshop or illustrator then you can have way better graphics then that and you don't want a game that youy spend for a whole year to be ruin because of the graphics

Congrats on completing a game that took a whole year to make, wow!
I'm not even done with my first game and it's been almost 4 months and I'm almost sick of the game lol. (I play my own game WAY to much)

Anyway, as others have said, find a nice graphic artist and get those graphics lookin' nice and shiny. :)
