.ogg soundfiles not working

hi there, i didn't find anything about this problem in the search function:
When i import soundfiles as music they are working, but when i import them as a sound i can't play them. Sometimes even gamesalad crashes when i push the play button. They were originally .wav files and i tried to convert them to .ogg before importing them to my project with different programs but that didn't change anything. I'm using a macbook with snow leopard 10.6.8 and gamesalad 0.9.85.
