Provisioning Profile problems

Hey guys I'm fairly new to publishing apps so bear with me. I created and downloaded a provisioning profile from apple. What it says through apple is to double click on the file and that should bring up xcode, which it does. Then it says to go into the organizer and from there I should see my device and a tab for my provisioning profile should I not? When I go to the organizer, there is absolutely nothing in it. It juts says no editor. Can someone help me out with what I might be doing wrong. Or could someone show me a link or walk me through how to make the provisioning profile so that it appears in the drop down menu when publishing in gamesalad? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just have no idea what I'm doing for the publishing portion of gamesalad

No I don't. It just says no editor and there's nothing in the tabs to the side. Do I have to set up a project file in xcode?

Yeah I'm not sure what the deal is. I'll have to try again when I get home tonight. I went off of your video tshirtbooth titled "Installing the Gamesalad viewer with xcode and got to about the 5:30 mark and after I double-click on the mobileprovision download, it opens up xcode, but shows the start-up screen and when I go to the organizer, there's nothing in there

ok so apparently it was xcode that wasnt working right. I did a re-install of xcode and now it works fine.
