I think we'll have to buy all of Joe's games as payment for his tutorials if we use them!

    Only seems fair ;)

Just been struggling with the physics for a platform game and came across this post. Did any of the tutorials see the light of day?

They are located in the How-To section of the Wiki:

    http://gamesalad.com/wiki/how_tos:platformer_tutorials

They should all still apply. An update to GameSalad last March (0.8.6) broke the template that I was working on and I haven't had a chance to revisit it...

Hey, so i just started using game salad and i was using your tutorial. The tutorial REALLY helped me out and i cant wait for more :D. but... i fallowed all the steps for moving left and right and depending on the movement speed of my character he starts to slow down and stop after awhile. is this normal? and how to i change it so he stays at a constant speed? hope someone responds cuase this thread has been empty for 7 months :P

Hey. Go into each of the ground actors you made as well as the player and make sure all of their friction is set to 0. It will be on the left under Physics.

It's too bad an update killed your template, was really looking forward to this. I wish you had at least made it to the jumping tutorial, the left and right turned out really solid! Thanks for the nice start.
