.wav in tshirtboots video

LumpAppsLumpApps Member Posts: 2,881
Hi,

I watched this video:

I need a seamless loop and the import of mp3's don't work because Game Salad ads silences to the sound files when converting to m4a. My sound editor (reaper) can't export to m4a so I thought I'd try .wav files since tshirtboot uses that in his video.

But I can't import a .wav. GS has it grayed out when I hit the plus sign and dragging and dropping doesn't work either.

What am I doing wrong??

Cheers,
Ludwig

Very odd.. I can import 22k and 44k 16 or 8 bit wavs via drag and drop into GS no problem.

    Hi Ludwig

Is this bug already known to GS? It can't be right, can it?

As for your wav files, I tested finding wav files via the Audio library + button without any problems (they weren't greyed out); and I was able to drag them in successfully too.

A couple of thoughts: maybe your wav files are compressed in some way? Perhaps remake the wav files in something like Audacity to see if you're still having problems. Or perhaps try a different file format, aiff or ogg to see if that's OK (although that won't solve the mystery of why your copy of GS won't accept wav files, of course). Hope it works out for you.

Edit: hi Rob, didn't mean to ignore you, your post appeared while I was writing mine!

    Thanks guys.
I used Audacity to convert them to mp4 and that works.
    Still strange right!

And my sound files still are not seamless on my iPhone :(
I read that this is a problem before.
I have different soundfiles playing after each other and the last one in row is the one that loops.
I have a timer with interpolate to trigger the sounds and I can trigger a sound after the length of the previous ones because I know the length in milliseconds.
In the creator preview this works fine but on the iPhone I mostly all of the times get gaps :(

    Oh well...

Heehee! I missed that, scitunes! I'm still chuckling. :-) (Not laughing at you Ludwig; just the little omission)

Yeah, that wasn't directed at anyone. It actually made me think of a time (way back in the day) when someone called TSB "Tshirtbone" - which is even funnier.
