Hey guys, i have been working on this game for quite some time now and thought that i might as well go ahead and open up a development thread. My game "Chili Peppers" was meant to be just a learning experience with gamesalad but it has evolved into a full game. It is a platformer game. here are some pictures:
This one was the first try at the main character
This is my second try. The main character's name is tubby. Don't ask what he is... i dont know
I will try to upload a lot more pictures and possibly a video soon.

Pondering whether or not to jump in the lava....
guess i shouldn't have jumped =P
Imho the first character is way better... It has the better proportions and the more appealing feel (chunky and compact)... I would reduce the lines above his eyes to just three curves to remain visible and not blur into a mess when scaled down to in game size...
As for the screenshots... The main problem for me are the outlines and the importance of elements... E.g. The chars outline now is way too thin, the health bar on the other hand has a fat black outline giving it a lot mor importance visually. I would thicken the chars outline to make him stand out and keep the ui and background outlines the same thickness. It also helps to keep outlines consistent in coloring (either stay with a black outline and a comic book style or go with a colored outline that shades the element (e.g. your trees)...
As for the ui choose one style of buttons (round like in the 'you died' box or square like the movement controls) to keep a consistent look and feel that allows the player to see immediately what is a clickable element...
Good luck with the game...

Cut The Rope Template Second 1:11.
Cheers.
did you use illustrator for this as well
and even though i have been gone for a long time i have only been working on this a short amount because of a lot of personal stuff that im not going to get into.
some extra concepts i've been working on:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
im aware that many of the guns are the same they are separate images used to display the newest ones ive created
here is a closer view of the new main character:
Tubby still has to undergo some changes but i have not had access to Adobe Illustrator for a while so that will have to wait. I am planning different arms and a flat, tilted head. The concepts are all drawn out and i cant wait to do the rest
Also the name of the game has changed to "The Fight For Pepperland"
Your back to the forums!!
@3xL Who, the main character? if you can find something he looks like i would love to change it. i really dont want him to look like someone else's character
@LeonardDeveloper Yeah i posted about it here: http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/40325/icanmake-is-back#Item_3 but nobody seemed to care :P
here is a larger version:
i still have to work out some bugs like his cavemanish super long arms
