You've got a corrupted file. Hopefully you have been making backups. Unfortunately theres not much you can do if you have not. At best you can prob delete and recreate that actor. But even that may not work.
so sad. what could corrupt the file? i don't want this to happen again. is there a limit to how many rules you can place in a single protype?

nope. It may be that you setup some rules or something that seriously conflict with each other and it jacked it up or the less wanted answer is it just happens sometimes. I have had it happen before. but not often .
And no there is no set limit to number of rules or anything
