Hi everybody, I thought it was about time I introduced my 2nd GS project - Dungeon of the Damned.
An adventure game inspired by the likes of Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder and Black Crypt. Featuring dungeon exploration, puzzle solving and classic point & click gameplay.
Here's a little teaser video I just knocked up. I'll post more to this thread as development continues...

I'm fotunate to have access to a few good packages. Maya, After Effects and Photoshop were used for this teaser.
In-game graphics will all be pre-rendered 3D with a very similar look to the teaser.
Interested to see how this one comes along, nice teaser
Its amazing to see what people come up with, with this seemingly simple program.

(I'm not too hot on facebook - so just feeling my way around! Any tips appreciated.)
And here's a new image:

How do you set up a Facebook page (what kind of page) so you do not have to show all your personal info - especially your name - just have it for your game or company name.
Thanks

I'm still sussing facebook out - but you need to setup a fanpage rather than a personal one.

Feedback always appreciated - but obviously will only be pre-rendered 3D in final game.
Personally my game preference would be for an atmospheric old-school looking adventure game over yet another 2D illustrator-made game any day. But hey, that's just me.
here is a quick video on how far i am.
it is for the ipad, got the maze to work with the 3d display and adding pick up items right now.
going to redo the graphics at the end. (so the wall are just green for now)
the good thing so far is it runs at 60 fps
Ha - looks like these games are suddenly back in fashion! 'Descend' is currently about to hit iphone and 'Grimrock' is in development and looks absolutely amazing!
I like what you've done. I wonder how you're triggering the 3D images? I'm using a attributes that track the players grid position, and players direction and then trigger whether an image is on and off. It works but is a hell of a lot of work - and I bet there's a better way!
Also, my scenes have had to be kept relatively small - basically a series of rooms rather than a huge dungeon - due to scene size and framerate issues.
I'll post some actual screenshots soon. The video is obviously just a little cinematic teaser - and the real thing works grid style just like yours.
Good luck buddy
Diamond000 > Sorry that last post was supposed to be directed at you, I was in a hurry and just typed it out pre-coffee!
sdsmith - I'm guessing your post was directed at Diamond too. Yes, he's done it in GS - as my game is running the same.
I may have to upload a screenshot in a bit... since the competition is hotting up an all!
Graphics tweaking etc. is ongoing. And no sound just yet.
Feedback / comments welcome...

Its been a real slog putting it together (both the game engine - and creating graphics that tile and sit together seamlessly).
I'm feeling encouraged again to see this one through to the end!
Thanks
I feel its time to post a progress update - finally I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
All scenes are pretty much 90 percent complete now, and I've just spent the last 2 days adding sound effects and a bit of music.
The good news is I've now got a week off work to focus solely on this project.
All being well I can see a December release - though based on people's experiences of December releases I'll most likely shelf it until next year
Anyone know if January is a good time to release?
A new gameplay video will follow very soon...
I always notice a huge boost in sales.
It's true that larger companies usually always have sales at this time, but you could do the same.
The beauty of this market is that you get to directly compete against the large game companies.
Tools like GameSalad allow you such quick turnaround and speed of development, that the large companies cannot compete with YOU!
They have 100K$ toilet paper budgets to deal with each year. They aren't nearly as nimble as a small Indie can be.
Because GS takes care of all the heavy lifting programming-wise, you can spend all your time working on the art, animations, and audio. It's such an amazing thing.
Anyway, just something to consider. I wouldn't fear the holidays.
And good luck with your game, whenever you decide to release it!
