How does apple feel about violent games?

I am thinking about putting pixelated blood and dismemberment into one of the games I'm working on. What would apple think about this though?

To be honest, Apple frowns upon violence and blood in their games. It just depends on how much there is. Dismemberment would probably be hard to get under a 12+ rating, with a good chance of getting a 17+ rating. It just depends on how graphic it is.

There are different ratings for cartoon, graphic, or realistic. Its actually easy to find out. Go into your itunes connect account, and make a new app. In that process, apple will ask you to rate your game in a few categories. In real time you can see how the intensity of violence or nudity affects your Apple rating. Certain selections will tell you that Apple won't allow it. And a 17+ rating would be fine. I think you have to be 18 to even buy something on Apple itunes store? People usually don't consider the ratings when buying a game, or if they do, the mature rating is enticing . That's why R movies generally gross more than lower rated movies on average.

If you mean the make more gross revenue than other movies, that is false. It is rare that an R movie is #1 in the box office. Any other rating of movie grosses better than R rated.

Apple is generally more family friendly. Even if you do put a gross game out there it won't get featured or anything.

I wasn't referring to tops in box office, as that isn't always a great indication of average of all movies. On that note, I reexamined the information, and I am indeed wrong. I must have mixed up something somewhere along the way. I concede :) (otherwise I'd provide the proper evidence).

True that, and the only good mature rated games in the store come from devs like Glu or Chillingo.

Now that I think about it, Adult Swim games are very violent. 5 minutes to kill yourself? Amateur Surgeon? Take a look at these, and if your game is on par, then you might be fine.
