    Wow, I can't believe that cinema 4d costs $700. Is it really useful in making images for app development?

    yeah but you have to think that every aspect of that image has to be taken care of lighting shading texturing,uv texturing is a nightmare to get right,modelling the actual thing in the first place.so loads of elements but once you got them the final product will look amazing,ive just finished this 3d logo for zakdavid look at the couple of posts above this and check his profile picture out,so all you have to do here is model the simple shape i used a camera to map the image onto the shape,then used a bump map to give it that little extra,ohh and also give the metal part a brushed steel texture.
