Hi everyone,

I'm in the final stages of development of my first iphone game.
I just made a facebook page to showcase some of the art//music/game-play (i'll be adding more over the next week or two as I get closer to launch)

Hopefully some of you will take a look and give me some feedback :)

That looks really good, Ash, and great name for the game too!

    My only suggestions would be:

    1. Show the whole level zoomed out if you can before you start - so that people can see where the coins are!

    2. Have a 'fast forward' button - this would be easy to do, and would let players quickly move across the 'flat' areas that are safe. It may get dull watching them otherwise! (just put a rule in the fast forward button that increases character speed by 2. Then in your characters have their movement speed set to character speed)

    Good luck!

Looks good. You don't have problems with FPS, when there is so many actors in the scene?

Just a quick word of advice - make sure you got the apps name ok in iTunes.

It's really a great name - up there with 'Cut the rope' - which I'm sure you were thinking of when you came up with it!

Best of luck - looking forward to seeing this...

    Hey Everyone!

I just uploaded some of the levels of Bridge the Gap onto GS arcade
    http://gamesalad.com/game/37852
the load time/frame rate is just awful, I'm running off a laptop with bad wi fi connection, so maybe it's better on a desktop? either way, it runs waaaaay better on the iphone.
hopefully you guys will try it out and let me know your thoughts :)

@quantumsheep, great ideas! I had already added the fast forward(I made it out of
necessity, Testing the game was taking far to long!) those were just older videos. showing the gold is a good idea as well.

I ended up overhauling the original game design in which you collected gold, and then spent it on supplies, it just got to overly complicated, and the fps stared to suffer once you had about 60-70 barrels/bridges on screen. I ended up limiting each screen to 20 supplies and just started inventing puzzles around that number, it made for better puzzles and faster game play, and levels you can beat in under 10 minutes

anyway, thanks again everyone for all your input and advice, it's very much appreciated.

The full version is in review at the app store I'll post the link when its up

This is a really REALLY good game, love the music and fun colourful graphics. Reminds me of Cargo Bridge which I enjoyed playing on Chrome store. My advice would be to go over it with a fine eye. I know your probably shattered but making it perfect will get you amazing reviews. Its the little attention to details that helped Angry Birds and Tiny Wings take off (pardon the pun).

Your titles a bit long, "Bridge the Gap" on its own is catchier but then having the Pirate keyword is good so I'd probably keep it as it is. Also theres a few color clashes which perhaps on later updates you could fix. For example the brown earth color of the cliffs clashes with the pirate ship in the background. Perhaps change the shades a little?

Only other thing is perhaps tweak the tutorial. After the first 3 screens I built the whole track but then realised when I hit Go and they started walking their was more screen hints. Also there seems a lot of text on the tutorial screens, even though the texts looks good maybe cut down on it a bit. Oh and is it easy to read the text on the iPhone screen?

Brilliant Game. Definitely an instant buy for me and could do well. Good luck with sales dude!
