I'm making a game for iPhone 4, what is a good resolution to set my characters? Is the standard 72 in photoshop fine? Thanks

72 is the only way to go... if you are in photoshop it is just easy to export through the web and devices. I go that way in case I forget something.

    cheers and good luck

...and don't forget that using Resolution Independence for iPhone4, all your images are brought in twice the size of what you want to see them at; + all dimensions are divisible by 2.

Are you serious? So if I'm making a game and I put in a image thats 1" by 2" for instance, when I have that game published to iPhone the image will appear 2" by 4"?

The iPhone 4 has double the number of pixels that iPhone had. (iPhone 4 has 640x960 pixels squeezed into that 2 inch by 3 inch screen space.) When you'd be creating those characters in Photoshop at 72 ppi (as against the 320 ppi ...well actually 326 ppi, but we can ignore the 6 pixels) you'll have to draw them really really big! (It's a good idea to use a 2"x3" grid to draw your characters up and then decide how big you want them to be - and then create them in Photoshop.)

I would recommend that you create a 300 ppi res file in Photoshop (so that your visual output is as close to the real size) and after completing the graphic export it after changing the finished file's ppi to 72.

    I hope this helps.
