Animation FPS, embedded or GS defined??

Just wondering about the actual animation speed of an image. Lets say I have an image that i originally intended for the the animation to run at 25fps, will GS play the animation at that speed automatically or do you define animation speed in GS somewhere? As in, rather than importing the animation as a single file, do you instead import the seperate frames of animation then handle the frame timing in GS?
I was watching the plants vs zombies template video that tshirtbooth made and noticed that the speed of the boy actors were moving along the screen quite slow but the speed of the walk cycle animation looked like it had been intended to move faster than it actually was. Just asking now just incase I spend too much time timing out animation in my graphic editor and then end up having to retime it in GS.
Hope my question was clear.

each frame of the animation you import as a separate .png into gamesalad. you then put a animate behavior in your actor, and drag each frame image into that behavior in the order you want. And you select your fps in the animate behavior itself
sprite sheets are coming soon, but for now that's how you do it.
