Any Public Domain Graphic Sites?

I stink at art (when I mean I stink at art...I mean it) and it's difficult to find people that are willing to make graphics for free or for cheap. I'm wondering if there are any public domain websites where I can find free-to-use
art. You guys know of any places where I can find some art to use?

Google Public Domain Clipart or Public Domain Graphics, Or public domain art.

You will find loads of stuff although it seems like most sites have all the same stuff and never what need.

You can hire an artist on revenue sharing profit.Really the good art will bump up your sales.Really there are many of them willing to work on shared revenues.

Not Really. The good artist are rarely willing to take on revenue sharing projects unless you have a history of decent selling apps. That is a big risk for them.

And if a brilliant artist wants to make his own game then what. Will he leave his art and start to learn coding or will he team up with a good coder.

read the use terms first: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Reusing_content_outside_Wikimedia

I looked around, but I find nothing of use in that website for games. Their sprites section has like only 30 images.

Google isn't giving me anything good, and I never found google searching very reliable.

Anyone know of any public domain websites that has fish/ocean sprites?

That's not a valid option. I only have 3 weeks to finish my game for the competition and it will definably take longer than that for the sprites to be done. My only 2 options are to get graphics from a public domain or to make 8-bit art (which isn't very attractive for certain people who care too much about graphics).

Then you buy some stock vectors or clipart from the websites providing that.

Did you search any of the terms I said. That search right there has several site I check when I need something. Your not gonna find sites with enough free art to make an entire game. It will take lots of searching to find the art you need for a game.

I recommend you do it yourself. Clipart games usually ends up looking like a inconsistent mess. Consistent 8bit graphics will probably look better as an whole.

    Sure I never said impossible.
But honestly most teams are not formed to bring the artists ideas to light. I have asked lots of artists in the past about rev sharing and very few had said they where willing to consider and even then so far to date some reason or another has not worked out sometimes the timing is no good for one of us or the communication just stops. It takes a very special team to actually work.

I searched those exact terms, and none of the websites have exactly what I need. Some of the websites have images of large sizes (the first one). Some of the websites are broken (missing images, broken links), and others have art from other games (Megaman, I saw a LOT of these). Most of them just have pictures. There is nothing I can use.

This isn't the first time I've had trouble with graphics. Pretty much every game I made I had trouble with graphics and they end up in poor quality. It's been a problem since Day 1.

I'll probably just continue with my 8-bit images.
