Should I release Today???

Hey guys,

So my latest app is being reviewed by Apple and I am 99.99% sure they will accept it. My question is, do I go ahead and release it today for Father's Day weekend or do I wait and release it next Thursday? Obviously I want this app to make Mew and Noteworthy, so am I cheating myself out of that if I release it today? Your thoughts are appreciated.

I might not be, it have just read it is better to release on thursdays, and I was wondering if Friday was alright too.

Why not release for Father's Day weekend? I'm sure some crazy people are going to get their father an iTunes gift card for Father's Day.

Alright guys, thanks for the feedback. I've set the launch date for today. Here's the weird thing. When I first submitted my app to Apple, they rejected it. Today, I sent the new version to them for approval. 3 minutes after the status had been changed to Waiting For Review, I got an email that the app was now "In Review". However, the app is still in review. Hopefully they approve it soon!

did they mention why it was rejected, hopefully all goes well, if not one more week cant hurt too much - gives you more time to prep on marketing too right

True, but I've got my website ready, I've got the newsletter typed, trailer is on the launch pad...my trigger finger is getting itchy! Hopefully its not much longer. Does anyone know how late the app review team works?

Well my latest app has been in review for 20 hours! I don't think I have ever had a review take this long. What about you all? Is this normal for Apple? Do they still review apps over the weekend?

I just submitted my game to Apple..Saw a website that says if you submit it on a sunday it is common to get it approved by the end of the week. I know exactly how you feel man, being in review is making me queasy!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if your app gets rejected, when you resubmit it goes to review quickly but will stay in review a lot longer. It is just a system thing, even though it says "in Review" vs. "Waiting for Review" it still gets put in a queue. You should set your release day forward again so that it doesn't get approved and you are stuck with a release day in the past. I think after we got a rejection once, it was 3 or 4 days in review after we fixed the issue and resubmitted. Good Luck.

Thanks for the info. So, if I set the launch date for this Thursday, June 23rd, should Apple have it approved by then since I resubmitted the binary on June 17?
