I've Got Clarification on GameCenter Images

Hey everyone,
I recently submitted my latest and greatest app to Apple...YAY...but it was rejected for having the GameCenter badges in it...DAMN. On the up side, if there is one, I received some clarification from Apple on this issue. Here is the conversation I had with an App Reviewer regarding the GameCenter images.
Apple to me:
We found that your app does not comply with the Guidelines for Using Apple's Trademarks and Copyrights <http://www.apple.com/legal/trademark/guidelinesfor3rdparties.html>, as required by the App Store Review Guidelines.
Specifically, your app includes one or more Apple trademark images - or likenesses of Apple trademark images - including Game Center badges. Please see the attached screenshots for more information.
For your convenience, we've provided the relevant section/s of the Guidelines for Using Apple's Trademarks and Copyrights.
Apple Logo and Apple-owned Graphic Symbols
You may not use the Apple Logo or any other Apple-owned graphic symbol, logo, or icon on or in connection with web sites, products, packaging, manuals, promotional/advertising materials, or for any other purpose except pursuant to an express written trademark license from Apple, such as a reseller agreement.
me to Apple:
I understand the trademark issue you mention. However, I am wondering if there is a process to go through that would allow me to mention and use the Game Center badges with this app? It would appear others have been allowed by some means to do what I would also like to do as the Game Center badges appear in their apps. If they are allowed to do this, then it makes sense that I should be allowed also, or as I mentioned, there must be something I can do so I am permitted this privilege.
Apple to me:
Thank you for your response. To clarify, while use of the Game Center icon within your app is acceptable to launch Game Center, the use of the green felt and brown frame is not.
I sent a reply back to them a few minutes ago regarding modifying the badges, so we will have to see what they say. Hope this helps those of you who are planning on using GameCenter badges in your apps so you don't have to go through my frustration.

I just received the same reply as you did after I got my game rejected. Apparently it's ok to use the GC icon alone to launch the leaderboards, but we can't use graphics that are similar to the GC app to encapsulate the icon or to create an enable GC scene.
That's why some had approval problems using the images provided in the GS official GC template or my GC template.

Is it as simple as making generic buttons referencing login, post scores, and leaderboard?
I kinda wish we could use some images that are already familiar to the game center users...like the green felt and brown borders.

Having said that, they have approved both my Line Ar(X) for iPhone and iPad which uses those images with just a grid over the top! I guess a lot comes down to the reviewer as well as to whether they think you've made significant changes. In future i'll just be making sure its changed up enough!
