Is it possible to change an app's icon before launch?

So I successfully loaded my first app to Apple, thanks to the help of many, many people on this forum. It's awaiting approval. I noticed that it's glossy. Now I know it's possible to change that in future releases, but I wondered: Is it possible to make it non-glossy BEFORE the release date and/or BEFORE it has even been approved by Apple?

Thanks again for everybody's help thus far.

What was the setting when you published the app through GameSalad?

If you didn't change the setting in the publishing process, then a new binary is needed to make the change. If it was already set to non-glossy in the app, then just upload the image again.

I noticed Apple automatically changes the image based on what the App is set at. But if an app isn't uploaded yet... or was just recently uploaded... it defaults to glossy.

In GS I specified I didn't want the glossy effect. So you're saying that Apple should remove it when it's approved?

If you specified that you didn't want the glossy effect in GameSalad — but the glossy effect appeared on your 512x512 image for iTunes Connect — try reloading the image in iTunes Connect to fix the problem.

I did. It's still the same.

I don't know then. That's what usually works for me. Maybe Apple changed something or somethings broken somewhere. It's been a while since I've uploaded an app.

    Thanks anyway. We'll see.

Waiting to see what happens is also something else to try. The change to the icon might not be instant. I've seen icons change on me... like they were being processed by the server. Maybe check like in 30 minutes or tomorrow to see if the new icon overwrote the old one.

if you set it in GS to not be Glossy itunes connect will update itself eventually before it launches.

If it comes out on the app store as a glossy app then you didn't set it in GS when you published. that is one of the annoying must check every single time things since even GS defaults to glossy even if you have changed it in the past.

It worked. I ended up resubmitting the binary a few times--it's fixed now. Not sure if I originally had it set to glossy in GS or if there was just a mixup with the server.

    Thanks y'all!
