Code Sign Error (Make Sure...)

edited November -1 in iPhone and Android Publishing
Hello fellow GS ppl,

I am trying to publish my app through Gamesalad, but at the end of the process, GS tells me exactly, "Code signing failed. Make sure your provisioning profile, developer certificate, and WWDR certificate are installed.". I have all those things installed but still it won't publish. I have my dist. and dev. cert's under "login" -> "My Certificates", and my WWDR under "login" -> "Certificates". I have my prov. profile installed into Xcode. Still it doesn't work.

Here are a few things that may be impeding me for your knowledge;
-my Xcode is version 3.1.2, not 4.x
-my app is for the iPhone, and I choose to publish it as one, but my only test device is an iPad (which is associated with my dev. profile {plus the iPad i believe isn't on its most recent software update})

This is really frustrating because I have been struggling with this problem off and on for this app for a couple months! I really need to move on with my projects, but this is holding me back. Help!

    the ipad wont be your issue. you prob need to delete and reinstall all of your certificates and provisioning profiles. First try deleting just WWDC certificate. Mine works fine without one and that seemed to fix my issue months ago if that doesn't work just delete them all and then download and install new ones. It seems I saw somewhere you have to install them in a certain order. I don't know how much truth there is to that. but I believe it was WWDC, Developer, Distribution, Then your provisioning profile.

    You may also want to try downloading xcode 4 and do the side by side install if there is a reason you are keeping 3.1.2 but I don't think thats gonna be your issue.

    Hi mate, I'm having the same problem - its keeps on crapping out when it gets to the last stage of publishing (could not code sign because there is no developer identity matching the selected provisioning profile) - let me know how it goes mate, and good luck.

    Thank you! I still haven't fixed the problem, but I think I am making progress. Is there a difference between the WWDR and the WWDC certificate? Are they the same? I see where I can download the WWDR off of the Provisioning Portal, but I do not see the WWDC...

    @cnmeyer1980 I have had your problem before and fixed it. I do not remember the specifics of the fix, but I do know that it involves your keychain and having the proper private and public keys associated with your certificates. I'll continue on this if I remember more about it.

    Just deleted everything and reinstalled in that order specified, and even restarted my computer and still it didn't work :(. I am getting increasingly frustrated with this :(... I won't be able to download Xcode 4 because every time I try (its an over 14 hrs download wait...), it always comes back to me as a corrupted file... So any other kind of help or suggestions would greatly be appreciated... If someone has everything working properly, could you maybe list out what you have in your keychain, Xcode, and etc associated with Gamesalad so I could compare and contrast with what I have to yours?

    Edit: With my Dist. Cert., it is associated with my company name, and my Dev. Cert. is associated with my personal name. Could this be part of my problem?

    Duuuuuude, how did you fix it? I've been trying to fix my problem for such a long time with no avail. What did you do?

    I've been having this same problem, but I figured it out! In Xcode, open up any project, and navigate to build setting. From there, scroll down (it's in alphabetical order) to where the header bar is Code Sign. Then, change the one that says release to iPhone Distributor, and the one that says debug to iPhone Developer. Hope that helps

    Hey, i had the same problem but here a solution, Go ahead and delete your provisioning profiles, wwdr certificate and development/distribution certificates. All of those must be created and installed in the exact order for it to work. (WWDR certificate -> Dev/Dist certs -> Provisioning Profiles), then if its still not uploading / application uploader if being a b*tch then you might have the beta version (which is what i had, i didnt even think to check before), so get rid of that version and download version 1.4.1) i uploaded an app 2day so i can say it works :)
    Hope that helps.

    @jamies15-3 Thanks for the help! I haven't done that yet, but am going to do so quickly. I must tell you, I do only have the beta, version 0.9.71, and am not looking to purchase the buyable account. Could this be a problem?
