Do you need gs viewer for MAC games?

I know it's good for your iOS games to test them out in gs viewer as computers are obviously much different and the viewer inside the gs app isn't the real thing. But do you need gs viewer for OSX games? I'm just wondering because the in - app gs viewer may be a fair test because you're using a computer anyway?
