Hey guys.

My game just got approved. Finally. But right now I placed the release date for tomorrow. But my quick question to you is should I just release it right now? if I do will I be feature on the new release section just for the remainder of the day? Do you think is better to set it for tomorrow? why?

I am at US central time btw right now its 9:35 pm

thanks so much

ps: ill post some promos once its live

I would wait till thursday. It will give you a full week to get noticed and featured by apple if you release tomorrow you will only get 1-2 days

But I read in some other post before making this one that if you wait to much. You wont be feature in the new release section anymore. Is that true?

apparently from what I read on another forums. The release date is the one it counts.

Let's say that your app is approved today April 12, but you don't "release" it until April 24. It will become available for download on April 24th, but on that day it will not appear in the the category's latest release list.

New & Noteworthy is another story, this only applies to the list of new releases.

So I guess the best thing to do is to calculate the time apple takes to review your app and try to get it approved in a Thursday

I have never had an issue with the release date not changing until the date it actually releases
My last two releases where done that way and the release date list updated fine with my app.

As long as you change the release date fairly quick after the app has been approved, you're in the green. Once in awhile it does glitch and it won't change the release date, but most of the time it works, good luck!

I changed it to Thursday once the state of the app changed to processing to app store. I think you have to change it in the "in review" or "waiting for review" state.. Because it didn't work and I can see my app in some stores.. not in all of them I guess it takes some time.. its kinda weird. Oh well Now I know for future releases. I'll give you guys some promos once its out for good. Hope you like it

It should work. the first time I bumped out a release date it went live on the store for little while before I changed it. and it still updated the date a week later once it released.
