My Company name

gandgand Member Posts: 54
I've enrolled Apple Developer Program as individual, now that I'm adding my first new app in iTunes Connect I'm asked to enter the company or developer name that I want displayed on the App Store for all of my applications.
Question is, can I use some fantasy name even if I've not a company registered with that name (Es: FooBar Software), or should I use only my name and surname?

I would say if you want to put a company name you better setup some sort of company to go with it. Otherwise just put your name.

It really isn't unless you are underage. even then it's not that big of a deal. talk to your local government. in the US city's issue business license for a fee. and wa-la you have a business

    Thanks.
Is in iTunes "Company name" related to copyright or just with "Other app by ..." list?
So I can have copyright by "© Name Surname" and all my app listed with "FooBar Software".

P.S. Also in my country (.it) setting up a company is quite complicate and expensive :(

I have set up a company before. It's not that hard unless you want to be an LLC or INC or some other legal business entity, which is only beneficial if you are afraid you might be sued for something ("Your app killed my dog! give me one millions dollars!") or if you're making a lot of money.

Otherwise all you need is a DBA (doing business as) form and maybe $20 or so depending on your county. Contact your local comptroller.

Under "Seller" you have to use your name if thats how you registered with Apple. Under the "Copyright" you can put whatever you want.
