How about scrolling the background?

Already working on the scrolling background. Also working with an issue where the game freaks out when there are too many bullets on the screen. Both should be done today - will submit an update soon.

Willing to work on other suggestions

Nice - that will look good. Are you using the "Particles" for the scrolling background? I think that an easy way to do it?

I'm just respawning the background to create the effect. I am not comfortable with particles, and I honestly don't know if you can do that, and I tried wrapping y but it gave me some really weird issues with some other actors that I don't see an easy fix to.

Added the scrolling background, different music and changed some of the images to match the style better.

I am working on another game with accelerometer controls which will be pretty fun. Already about 60% on coding it, about to wrap up with designing a lot of levels and finishing code for those. I think the new game looks prettier than this, but I wanted a retro jagged kind of look with that shooter.
