In app buying

I red that in app buying is possible with iOS. That would be a great feature to have in GS. How hard would it be to implement?

Hmm, its like deja vu. Maybe a search of the form or heck even one of the stickies from the CEO would have let you know its something that has been asked for for months.

It depends, if I see a game with in-app purchases (something like: buy additional lives, or weapons), I just skip it. I don't want to pay twice for one game.
Also I noticed that this is not a good idea to realese let's say the first episode of your game, and other episodes as in-app purchases. Why? Because if you realese them as a separate apps, you will get better visibility in the AppStore.

Hmm, this question is getting boring now, no, you can't... Is it coming? Probably. When? Nobody knows

Question about features we dont have that most non Xcode comPetitors do have. Is like the age old question. "ARE WE THERE YET????"

Tired of hearing the question? Step on the gas a lil..... Get there..... I'm gonna milk this 6.1 million to death. They hung
Themselves telling us that. There can be noooooo excuses this time next year.

And some people think angry birds isn't a fun game. If inapp wasn't a good idea farmville and many others
Wouldn't be around. Some people dont mind blowing cash on 99 cent micro purchases. Let's be shown the money.

IMHO Farmville is not a game at all. This is a new casual trend for people who have no idea about real gaming, and consider themselves as players.
And yes, Angry Birds is not a fun game for me :) I also don't like new Call of Duty and other similar games - short, commercial games for kids.
    Real games have souls.

Please don't make them regret giving us information. we have fought so hard to get them to tell us anything.

They are working on adding features but it takes time and effort. Let me remind everyone the one feature that all of the Competition doesn't have. Complete DRAG and DROP user interface. Everyone else requires learning some sort of code.

The fact is even if it takes them another 6 months to add, and you started coding now, most people wouldn't be a quarter way done with there game. So stop the complaint and if your not happy , you step on the peddle and learn to code

I agree that GS's DnD is very powerful but that's going to change. And soon.

You can only stay on the mountain so long. Like most apps on the app store, all devs should be prepared for a downward descend in rankings unless you keep pushing the limits of your game. And if you're game can't go any further than it has, then I guess that's where a dev will implement a step-down pricing from $4.99 > .99 etc. until that app has been milked to death. Then it becomes free and almost nominal. That being said, I don't believe that's what GS has in mind.

I think that unless GS absolutely focuses on their key weaknesses and does something about it (soon), it will make it easier for other drag-and-drop apps to catch up and pass them. This isn't a new thing. Just they way business and succession works.

    @jtadeo

While you raise some interesting points, I think that having been 'on top of the mountain' for over two years now with the DnD stuff, the GS guys have more than a healthy head start on the competition.

I'm sure with the cash injection that things will only get better. I hope so, anyway!

As to the original point about IAP - yes, it would be helpful. But I'd like to see a myriad of other stuff implemented first to help us include features that benefit our players, not ourselves.

IAP's help US. Not our customers. Nobody says 'This game sucks because it has no IAP's' - they're more likely to say 'Could do with GameCenter' or 'Why is this app not universal?' or 'Where are the social features' or 'needs more cowbell' etc etc

Our focus, in my opinion, should be on making our customers happy. Because happy customers = more sales.

Notice how many more are contemplating PRO now the splash screen is gone? That's because GS customers (us) are happy with that.

Anyway, that's just my opinion. Feel free to shoot it down! :D

    QS :D

ok 1 sec... this is my point of all this ..... "thats stupid , who needs this?,,,,, "I see no reason for that". 1 minute your saying "WE NEED Game Center." "We are losing money every minute we dont have Game Center" Game Center this Game center that. GOD I WISH WE COULD GET A ROAD MAP. Where my ROAD MAP. But when someone else says WE NEED IAP you say its perfect.. leave it alone or go learn xcode.

I think we should all play Devils Advocate to our opinions. Then maybe we would see both sides of the fence before we counter point a question or a suggestion or a desire for GS list of things to do.

GameSalad is bitchin' (in the good way) and people who bitch (in the bad way) about it and it's lack of features are mostly people who don't use GS to 10% of it's current capability and if they spent more time learning the software instead of coming online and whining, would make amazing games... The Atari didn't have online leaderboards, the SNES didn't have online leader boards/In-app purchases. Hell, most of the best games of all time didn't but they are still the best games of all time.

GS in the right hands is a hugely powerful SDK that does exactly what the developer tells it to do.

+1 QS, my only niggle with GS is the lack of cowbell

Im not one saying Give me features then Ill make a good game. Im saying while Im learning how to make a good game. When its ready it would be nice eventually to be able to add more features to it. Think about the things we have now. That at some point you didnt have before, in this engine. And probably fought tooth and nail via forums and contacting GS to get. There is nothing wrong with improving something as it grows. GS can only get better. Let it get better. Im not whining. Im just saying why take the time to trash someones idea or desire... or hell "opinion".
