Snake Pit 2.0 Free for One Day Only

Sales have been sluggish. Last week I made the game available for free for one day and about 1,600 people grabbed it.
Does anyone know if making it free for a day or so can help sales?

    well i guess it should as you get the game out there. these people might show it to their friends and get them too buy it.

    It can but again it will depend on the game. All the marketing strategies in the world short of misrepresentation wont work on a game that doesn't spark some serious interest right off.

    I think if you offer it free for a day and the game generates a number of positive feedback/ ratings,
    then it would be worth it.

    Thanks to all of you for your input.

    Yes, it was free 2 times already. The first time over 1,600 people downloaded it
    and the second time about 600 people grabbed it.
    Sales after the free period are about 2 to 5 a day.

    Have you done anything with this template yet?
    If so let me know. Would like to see yours as well.
    I will use it one more time for another idea I had and
    then get finally back to my own game.
