Need some critique!

Just hoping to get some opinions on my level design. It's not quite what I'm used to working on, so I'm open to any ideas. It's going for a little bit of a cutesy feel (more with the characters when I add them, but a little with the level too), and the moon is going to have craters and possibly a "cute" face. (hoping for some input on that as well!)

Well to be honest its pretty plain looking. it would help to know what type of game maybe add in some game elements. Theres nothing in particular wrong with the art its just plain as is.

I guess I should've been more clear. It's not complete yet. I was mostly just asking about the general style. It's going to be a sidescrolling shooter/fighting game.
