    I hope others will weigh in here quickly but if I were you, I would not put it free during the first three to five days.

    Yes, doing so will get you downloads but as soon as you go paid, it "might" fall of quickly.
    Also, when you start with 99 cents and THEN go free, a ton of web sites will blog about it and by doing so, giving you a little more exposure.

    Good luck :)

    Hey oaklandasfan

    First of all let me congratulate you on the release of your game. It is a great feeling to have something you made available for millions of people to download.

    That being said, and by no means I want to sound disrespectful. But take more time to release an app, polish the game a little. Don't just try to release a ton of bad apps. The graphics on your game and the game itself looks like it took you about 3-4 hours from the "tabula rasa" to submitting the game itself to apple.

    I don't want to sound like a jerk, but it is games like these (I'm not saying that you are not talented) that make it very hard for someone with a great app to stand up in this sea of unfinished games.

    If you really want to succeed in this business, put some passion in your games, polish them, make great graphics and amazing gameplay. It is only then that you will start seeing the real money coming in. Because by the looks of your game it might seems that you want to make an easy buck and you released something very quick.

    Try to have fun while you are a it, that for me and many others is the main ingridient to a good game and in some cases a good paycheck.

    Again please dont take this message as something bad. All I want is to help you.

    Regards

    Liam

    I think is sorta apples fault. Approving games that really are not good. (not talking about this one in particular). I mean sometimes they approve the crappier games just to say look at us we are apple and we have a zillion games in our appstore.. buy an iphone..

    I would agree with most of what you said, Liam, apart from the 'make a quick buck' - the game is free! :D

    @oaklandsfan

    I would:
    Put in a relative touch control system. Right now, the player object jumps to where your finger is if you take your finger off and put it back on the screen.
    Also, relative touch will help with this: You can't actually see your player under your thumb! The blue particles help, but it's far from ideal.
    If you can, hire an artist, or team up with an artistically inclined friend.
    Move the score to the right side of the screen - it's where you're looking the most - (the asteroids come from the right).

    Hope that helps!

    QS :D

    Edit - as an added note, I found it quite engaging in a simple way! The player ship jumping around, and not being able to see it, kinda ruined it for me though - I chose your second option on the poll :)

    Thanks people for the feedback. I'm going to release an update soon, including actual levels (like different asteroid belts to go through) and I'm going to ask my friend to make some new, refined graphics. At first I was going for the arcade-y feel.

    @QS
    How do I do the relative touch control?
