Publishing....pro?

Hey all, Ive been working very hard and am on the verge of publishing. My question is.....should I go pro to eliminate the GS splash screen? Have your sales been better/same bc of this? This is really the only reason for me to go pro that I would utilize. Because in my thinking, the general user has no idea what GS is. On the flipside, I think a few hardcore gamers would be too quick to dismiss it because of the GS label. Im not sure. input!

On a side note...all the info I fill in about my app when I publish through GS, is that what shows up in the app store? Or do I fill it out again when I submit the file GS gives me after I publish.

Is the $500 Pro a one-time fee or do you have to pay every Year??

(Doesn't make this clear on the homescreen/faqs etc???)

every year. But if you can't make $500 back in a year you shouldn't go pro anyways.

    Hey blue,
I think your question is hard to answer because only you know your game at this point!
Let's say you researched the market and have come up with a unique game that has awesome graphics and a clever game play with lots of levels.
It would make sense to go the pro route!

If this is your fist game (and I assume it is) then I'd wait and let the dust settle a bit. That's what I'm doing. So far, I've published 10 apps and nobody complained about the splash screen.
Looking at the "big picture" I think that the cost of going pro will come down quite a bit this year ... that's what I'm waiting for.

In the end, it's your call. If you have a sure thing, by any means, go pro.
If you want to test the waters, wait and see how well it sells. You can always go pro and update?

Thanks for all the advice, it was helpful. I think this being my first app (I am quite proud of it) I will just stay a basic member and get the experience of publishing in the app store down. If I sell high, I will invest the money to go pro as I already have another app planned down the pipeline.
