how to make great SFX!

hey guys, I have been making some sounds for my game and I found a great way to do it

all you need is a mic, garage band and your body.

open up garage band, click record and put a body part near the mic!

I made a REALLY awesome sounding menu "click" by cracking my nuckle in front of the mic. I also made a sweet sounding "bouncing" sound by snapping my finger in front of the mic.

seriously just open up garage band and try! you can even bang 2 items together just play around. I promise you will get some really cool SFX.

TIP: I have found it works best to get a nice enough sounding SFX then importing it into your game and testing it out there. normally an okay sounding SFX in garage band sounds really cool when its being used in your game with all the buttons and graphics.

This kind of thing is how I make my sound effects. Once, I was at a loss for a large button press sound, hit the wall, and the corkboard made a perfect sound for me. Anger causes success!

yea, but I prefer making each sound different and not slowing/speeding them up It makes me feel good to know how each sound was made, while others just see it as a clicking sound or something.

your hands palms together.
